to produce than simple text and image pages. Sites with multiple pages
will cost more than simple one page designs as they take longer and have
more elements.

Using Templates for your web site We can build your site from templates. Web templates
are pages designed by other web design professionals.
These pre-designed web pages contain most of the graphics, colour combinations
and layout you will need. All we will have to do is customise them to
your image and details. We can buy the template for you. See our template

where there is a wider choice.
Sites designed from template will be cheaper than those quoted below because
much less design time is involved.

Web site maintenance
If you don’t purchase a package with inbuilt
maintenance you will need to consider ongoing updating for your Web site
We charge an annual or monthly fee for this, depending on the complexity
of the site and the amount of updating needed on a regular basis.
Maintenance will include such things as text and image changes as needed
to keep the site information up to date. Any other changes involving the
layout of the pages will be charged for redesign Web site Redesign If you have an existing site which looks tired or needs
extensive updating and refreshing we will quote you for this work on an
individual basis. Hosting and domain names If you do not have a web presence you will need to
pay for a company to maintain your site files on the web. This is called
'hosting'
You will also need a name for your site that is unique and relevant to
your web site’s purpose. This is called your 'DomainName'
Your domain name and your hosting will need to be purchased separately
and maintained each year.
Domain Name
Domain name companies will arrange this for the web site owner and will
remind them when renewal is due.
Hosting
Hosting companies will store and display your site. Sometimes they also
arrange names as well.
Email addresses usually come with hosting packages but we can advise you
on a range of free alternatives that can be used especially if you want
to use a Web Mail address.

E-commerce
If you decide to sell over the Internet you will need
an e-commerce enabled site. Your online store will be based on an interactive
database.
Customers will be able to look through the goods on offer and place an
order.
Most sites then use a shopping cart system and payment facilities online
using secure payment facilities. These systems vary greatly in complexity
and cost. You will need to buy a copy of the shopping system and pay for us to install this on your web site. Shopping Systems and Payment Facilities Simple systems can be supplied at no cost.

A mid range system such as Shop Factory will cost about £300
A sophisticated system such as Actinic Catalog with fully integrated ordering and payment facilities will cost about £1000.
The payment facilities will need to be supplied via us through a third
party supplier such as Pay Pal, WorldPay or Nochex.
If you want to accept credit cards yourself for online payment you will need an
SSL which will come at extra cost
