Why Use Tables for Pages?

Table based pages are now the most common type of web page. Designers use tables for layout for a number of reasons

  • Gives flexibility of layout for both text and graphics
  • Multiple tables allows many small separated containers for information
  • Can use small tables to build up complex background graphical designs

What are tables?

Tables are where the page is divided up into containers called cells

It is possible to lay several tables onto a page independently of each other .
