Counters for web pages

Why have a counter?

If you have a commercial site you will want to know how many visitors your site is getting. If it is non commercial it is still interesting to know, especially if you have submitted it to search engines for wider distribution. It will also tell you details about the origins of your visitors

.What will counters tell you?

If you have a remotely monitored counter you will get statistics included as part of the package.

These are often available by password to the site owner.

You will get graphical representation of when people visit, how they were referred to the site etc. (You can usually also get these stats from your hosting company.)
